Fixer Downers

Seven to ten days, that’s how long they expect it take for my computer to be repaired. All it needs is a new power supply, but it’s Best Buy, not like they carry 5 different power supplies in store. No, that would be too easy and make too much sense to use one of those. Instead let’s mail it to Seattle. Then it hits me, by then it will have been a whole month without my PC! To be expected I guess considering the luck I’ve been having getting things repaired lately.
Get a power supply off the shelf or mail the computer over 500 miles?
I made it to Spokane, but no the van hasn’t been fixed. Last Sunday, I dropped it off at Myers Auto Rebuild, where service is no accident. I called Monday morning to explain to them the problem and also ask if they’d change the oil and fix that windshield wiper blade that’s been causing problems since Day 2. By Tuesday they knew the problem was the door’s motor and they were trying to find a replacement. OK, I called back Wednesday, still no motor. Thursday, again no motor. I called back Friday hoping for the best since Saturday one way or another I was going to take my computer to get it running. Apparently the guy who was working on the van didn’t come in and no one in the whole garage knew a thing about it. Since I have had to take the van to be repaired no less than 4 times a year for the last 5 years I’ve heard the "he didn’t show up today and no one else in the shop knows shit therefore nothing is being done with your vehicle" line way too many times. A little annoyed, I decided to do my own investigating and find a motor. So I called the company that does the van conversion, Braun Entervan, and found the nearest dealer. Surprise, surprise the nearest dealer is in Spokane. Great, maybe I can pick up the part I need when I take the computer to Best Buy. I called the dealer and was immediately told that Braun only sells replacement parts to Braun certified mechanics. Huh. So it took me 10 minutes to figure out what Myers’ minions couldn’t devise in a week. The name of the company is written on the freaking van people! How hard is it to make a phone call?
Meyers Auto Rebuild, where service is no factor.
Saturday morning we pick up the van. No oil change, sock still adorning the arm of the wiper, only now the inside paneling of the van is strewn about and the door requires a rope to hold it shut. I swear the van gets more and more ghetto every day.

Gaga For Google
Just Google It In search of a solution for posting streaming videos I stumbled across Google’s latest attempt to rule the internet Google Video. It’s free. It’s streaming. What more could you ask? Yes, embedding the player within your own website would be nice, but it’s FREE! It has the same great search engine plus a fun random video feature. Here are just a few of the videos that I’ve been entertaining myself with this past week. If you stumble across any comedic gold do share.

1. An oldy but a goody.
2. Gotta love asian pop culture.
3. Turn your speakers up for another classic!
4. A late addition that I had to share!
